This web site is dedicated to the memory of Jose Demaria Campua, one of the best Spanish photographers and photojournalist. The purpose of the site is to spread the knowledge of his work and the content of his image's catalog to help in the research and documentation of photography history.

All written content and images in this web site is protected under the Spanish law ( "Ley de Propiedad Intelectual", Real Decreto Legislativo 1/1996, de 12 de abril, BOE num 97 de 22-04-96 and L.O. 10/1995 del Codigo Penal) and other applicable international property right laws.

Any unauthorized copy or use of CAMPUA's images, shown in this web site or not, which are part of the Campua's work will be prosecuted by the Campua's rights holders to the maximum extent of law.

THE SPANISH HISTORY FROM 1920 TO 1974 IN PICTURES

In 1972, the Spanish press interviewed Campua. The following comment was made by the interviewer Mr. Manuel Antonio Rico, (PYRESA Agency):

"Some day someone will decide to put in order the Campua's archive. Then the images will talk words, some time sweet some time hard, about half a century of Spanish history"

Thirty four years later, that work has been accomplished. A huge task of scaning and analysis which has reveal the exact content of his private archive from the original films.

At the same time you will find a catalog of images referring to the most important political and social events in Spain.
